Competitive Intelligence Manager

We're expanding our Product Marketing team and are looking for an experienced Product Marketer to specialize in Competitive Intelligence. This critical role will help  the organization better track, understand, and act on the competitive landscape and develop strategies for our roadmap, sales enablement, and market positioning and messaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as an internal consultant to product management, product marketing, sales, client experience, and executives to provide market-specific insights and strategy
  • Propose and manage insight research programs, including projects covering market segments, verticals, products, and competitors
  • Partner with the Revenue team on quarterly win-loss research and outputs
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Sales Leadership, and CX providing key competitive Sales and GTM insights and recommendations as part of strategic decision making and planning efforts
  • Deliver accurate, timely, unbiased, and contextual analysis by supporting and improving on ongoing competitive research, tracking, and analysis of competitors’ products and GTM strategy
  • Research ongoing tracking and analysis of key competitors in the online learning space and emerging competitive threats and trends that may come from new market entries, mergers, and acquisitions.

Who You Are

  • 4+ years of recognized experience in enterprise software preferably in online/corporate learning, SaaS, or related fields
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to synthesize a busy, competitive, and growing market to create competitively differentiated messages and content by market segment, use case, verticals, and personas.
  • An agent of action--able to turn your tracking and research into actionable info that impacts our messaging, campaigns, sales strategy, and enablement using CI as a foundation for organizational success
  • Nice to have skills are competitive win-loss analysis and data visualization/BI. In the absence of them, the candidate must be willing to learn and implement quickly
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and to encourage and support others to achieve their objectives
  • Exceptional ability to work with various stakeholders, receive feedback, and maintain cross-functional relationships
  • Results-oriented with strong time management skills, highly organized and driven to succeed

Critical Skills and Tools You Use

  • Strong understanding of industry best practices, buyers, and vendors using deep business research and competitive analysis tools and techniques
  • 2+ years experience with CRM and data analytics software such as Salesforce, HubSpot, DOMO, Engagio, Google Analytics, etc.
  • experience building reports and dashboards
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills, including having a strong affinity for project management software (e.g. Jira, Asana)

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience working in agile and deadline-driven environments
  • Experience with competitive intelligence tools and practices
  • Experience working in the corporate learning/online learning B2B space.
  • Be skilled at verbal and written communications with the ability to translate technical features into training, documentation
  • Be capable of optimizing development and documentation processes
  • Have experience working in a matrix environment with excellent communication and collaboration skills to build trusting relationships, especially with sales teams
  • Be action-oriented, capable of multi-tasking well, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment


Work Environment & Physical Demands

Degreed is a remote-first company, however our roles are open to in-office or flex work if you live in a city with a physical office location (when it is safe to return to the office). This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our US and International colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), email, and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity machinery as necessary.  Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, and must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication.
