BetterUp is looking for a storyteller who is passionate about building awareness for mental fitness and preventative mental health care. BetterUp Care was launched in early 2021 to provide enterprise-wide support to employees so that they can develop healthy practices that build up their mind and lead to higher well-being. Care includes 1:1 well-being coaching, but also parenting, nutrition, sleep, and other specialist coaching as well as access to group coaching and specialized workshops. Care is a personalized solution that meets each person where they are and addresses their individual needs across the entire well-being spectrum, whether they are languishing or thriving.

BetterUp’s product was developed by a team of leading behavioral scientists, researchers, and technologists to bring evidence-based learning to professionals everywhere. We’re already transforming the way companies approach talent development at high-performing organizations like Airbnb, Google, Mars, and Hilton.

As a senior writer, you’ll be responsible for driving awareness of BetterUp through storytelling, education, and inspiration, and you’ll play a key role in developing our voice and point of view.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop an editorial calendar that aligns with our quarterly company objectives and highlights the unique POV of BetterUp Care
  • Find ways to tell our story using BetterUp Care member data as well as additional research sources
  • Support our executive leadership team in writing, editing, and storytelling, including op-eds, presentation decks, interviews, blog posts, and other content
  • Communicate and align with other teams in marketing, product, and sales to uncover the concerns and challenges facing benefits buyers and leaders looking to support the well-being of their employees
  • Write, edit, and manage the production of blog posts, webinars, long-form reports, and other content types
  • Partner with marketing team members on developing compelling content and storylines that support product launches and announcements
  • Report on the impact of results of content

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • A clear and emotive writing style, with strong editing experience
  • A strong perspective on how to use content to build community and engagement
  • Experience in working with senior executives to uncover unique insights and build strategic communications plans
  • Well-versed in topics such as mental health, well-being, performance, psychology,  leadership and management, career development, etc.
  • Ability to identify trends and issues for executives to comment on and uses this to strengthen our position in the market
  • Ability to come up with creative ways for content to solve business challenges
  • Obsession over the details -- from editing to project management
  • Management of multiple projects at once and excel in a highly cross-functional role
